Ten chapters in and I'm just really loving this new book. Yes, it's the first book in a series, that's a sequel to another series, but it's feeling more like a stand alone book. It goes to that same theme that I loved doing with The Awakening. That "what comes next" of it all.

Too often stories just end, without a level of finality that's satisfying. Especially with things like TV shows canceled before they were ready. The inevitable question of "what comes next" often falls to the wayside, without anyone picking them up.

A bunch of really bad stuff happens, and they get through it. But then how do they deal with going back to life like normal? They finally get that lost family member, but is it anything like they had hoped? What about the time apart? And with Maya's father, he almost found a replacement daughter in Heather. So there's this other aspect that's really interesting to explore. I can't wait for people to read this story.

But you'll have to wait for a while. I'm not even done writing it yet. Oh, if only I could just focus on writing. But, much like most people out there, I do have bills to pay.
