I'm a bit behind on putting all my idea on here, so I figured I'd catch up a little. I'd apologize, but it's not like anyone reads these anyway.
Someone gets pulled into something of another dimension, outside of worlds. Everyone wanders through this pocket dimension for work because there's nowhere that people can properly live. Enjoyment is on the form of tabs which give a certain sensation or experience for a few minutes. There's some tabs that can give it for the rest of their lives, but they're more expensive. They just released a cherry coke one, but has a tendency to misfire, making everyone fat and expell juices onto the floor. The MC gets stuck in it while trying to sleep. She goes to the one place in the flop house where she can find a dry spot when someone with a huge social follow comes in monologuing about their trip out into the world. The MC yells at him for interrupting her sleep and generally what the people did to the multiverse and how much she wanted to go home.
"Why didn't you just say that you wanted to go home," he said, with his feed still running.
"I did," she said. "Every way that I could, to everyone I saw. I just want to go home to Earth in 2026. And, yeah, all anyone ever does when I say that is look at me like my hair is on fire.:
"Because Earth gets destroyed in 2025," he said.
"What? No, that.. that's not possible. In which reality?"
"All of them."
"But... but I saw a tab that let's you go to 2035, but only for like 5 minutes."
"Yeah, because you don't want to stay there for longer or you'll turn to goo. Wait, did you really not know this?"
The MC punches him then goes back to sleep. The whole thing is captured on video and goes viral, netting them their own following that she could use to go home, but with no home to go to.
